About Eyejot, Inc.
We created Eyejot to solve three big problems.
1. Email messages can be confusing...
The first was figuring out how could we
make it easier for people to express themselves when they sent messages to friends,
family members and business colleagues. Everyone has, at one time or another, had their
messages misinterpreted. Perhaps it was because of a simple grammatical error. Maybe the
CAPS LOCK button was stuck. The fact of the matter is that email and text-based communications
make it hard to impart tone, emotion, energy, excitement, sadness, sarcasm, etc.
2. Video chatting is cool, *if* everyone is online...
Well, one solution we're all becoming more familiar with, as technology and internet
access improves, is using video chat. More than 10 million computers will become
web-cam enabled next year. All new Apple Macs have cameras and new computers from
Sony, Dell and HP are sporting built-in cameras as well.
And that's adding to the more than five million already
out there. The great thing about video chatting is that it's solution to the problem
email has of imparting tone and energy, and all the other important emotions that are so
critical to our communications.
However, the second problem Eyejot is solving,
and the one at the center
of video chat, is that the person you want to communicate with often isn't
sitting at their computer when you want to chat. It's like the telephone. People
are increasingly mobile. So, while video chat is great, it's getting harder
and harder to hook-up two or more people at the same time.
3. No one likes installing applications...
The other big problem we wanted to solve with Eyejot was that whatever we created
we knew we didn't want people to have to download and install yet another program.
We all know that computer viruses and spyware have placed us all into a
distrustful, almost paranoid, mode of thinking when it comes to changing our computer's configuration.
So, with Eyejot we decided we needed to make our platform and product client-free.
Nothing to install. Nothing to download.
